Martin-Redman Partners was born out of frustration with financial services as it stood in December 2012; stuffy, untrustworthy, overly-complex, ridden with jargon and full of unpleasant surprises. Some things we tackled head-on, others require a longer term view, but in all things we try to inform, educate and empower.
In our world view, financial advice should be fair, clear and simple. For a client, there is little to be gained from complex transactions that obscure the reality of the situation. From a distance, it may look complicated, but all investments, are just lots of simple transactions added together. If you do not understand what is being suggested to be done on your behalf, you probably should say no!
Most financial advice firms do not publish their fee rates on their website; we do – see here. Many financial advisers are still charging pseudo-commission rates, say 3.5%, we don’t; a typical fee for a full review, product analysis and implementation will be £1,710 or less, much less than our competition when investing more than £50,000.
Most financial advice firms are not good with technology, or at least do not use it well. Where technology makes it better, we will use it; where it gets in the way, we will shield our clients from it. Where it makes a positive contribution, we will embrace it and develop products for the market.
